CanCon Friday - Goddo

Now here's a band that toured to Hell and back, repeatedly.

Greg Godovitz, upon leaving the band Fludd (of Cousin Mary fame) in 1975, was looking for a hard rock ticket to dreamland...But he got Goddo instead.

Never as big as they coulda shoulda been south of the 49th, due to myriad reasons shared by many of the bands that you may read about here...But that detracts from their northern legend not one bit.

Cock on!

It seems I have waiting for Goddo, as it were.
Yet another band I had never heard of, through no ones fault.
In 75 I was only 15, recently gone from home and having a hard go of it in a small redneck town in Oregon.
Even listening to Heavy Metal was reason enough to get an ass beating from the locals.
I did manage to scrape a small collection together though and never looked back.
Thanks for digging this up and I will be looking forward to more installments.
Rock On, Dude!

This band rocks. I'm no heavy metal head but I think I love these guys. Thanks for posting this. It shows once again what a genius you are.

Thank you for your kind words, Busted and Doctor Monkey.

Goddo isn't 'metal' (within a classic Priest/Sabbath sensibility) to me, but they rock...and that's what matters, isn't it?

The video is from CHUM-TV's first country wide simulcast in '79, and can now be purchased as a DVD, for those with an interest.
