Steaks From Sacred Cows, Cheap
Beat bop beauty , which the ghostly angel of Ti Jean Kerouac approves of. Probably. Miles from late 50s to mid 60s WAS jazz-- 500 spins of Kind of Blue, still sounds authentic (tho often imitated). Have a Gerry Mulligan with Chet Baker CD which while not quite as hip perhaps as Miles/Trane/Bill Evans hip features some decent playing.
And speaking of Bill Evans, I've never heard Scott LaFaro play with anyone other than Evans. That's an untimely death that never gets mentioned. He was amazing-- his work on the trio's Village Vanguard dates was superb. Thanks for the toon!
Mulligan meets Monk has been a longtime favorite for me, J....LaFaro could hold his own with anyone, RR...His passing was a terrible loss to music.;>)
Johnny Hodges was one of the greatest players ever. His tone and feel were second to none. Thanks for this.
