Frankly, I think this to be a studied bit of kabuki in the service of faux bipartisanship. Grover has had a good run with his scheme - he could retire to Aruba with his consulting loot tomorrow with barely a tear to stain his gains. The Republicans that have Teahadi heat in their districts have nothing to lose by throwing him over if it means 'centrist' gains in '14.
