While you were gone, all hell broke lose. I found out on my birthday that my best friend has small cell squamous lung cancer. I smoke, she doesn't. I eat any old shit I wish, she's a vegetarian. Go figure. Anyway that's why I'm writing about food. I'm not trying to fatten her up for radiation and chemotherapy.
What I don't get, and pardon me for my perfidy, is why this man is lifted up by the Black community as some kind of near-deity.
He had plastic surgery to look white, he married two white women, and he seemed to wish to willfully renounce the color of his skin and the race of his birth in every way.
And yet, he gets lionized by Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? I just.don't.get.it
I come to this site a lot, sometimes with trepidation because you make some powerful, often disturbing images. It's always worth it, though. This image is pure genius.

And Comrade Kevin, you're right. Most people, black or white, have very confused ideas about hero worship; a very confused and often misplaced urge.
