Ah, but that might open up the long-standing muso's dispute of 'hot' vs. 'cool' jazz, VG...Many a tumbler of cheap spirits has been spilled and high-strung feelings plucked roughly over that.

Indeed, Miles' Kind Of Blue period, with its emphasis on modality, rich harmonic development, and the sophisticated group interaction of a stellar lineup would be an excellent example of dialog without words.
